Joe the IT Director was curious if some of the nation's largest and most successful high-traffic web properties, so he called up some of his friends.
Example: Joe the IT Director calls Sue the Director of Technology
Joe: "Hi Sue"
Sue: "Hi Joe, how are you?"
Joe: "Sue, I'm fine, but I just read that high traffic websites don't use magic. You have a high traffic website right?"
Sue: "Right"
Joe: "Did your site use magic?"
Sue: "Nope - just good old fashioned technology like PHP, C++, and MySQL."
Joe: "Okay thanks. So how did you get the technology?"
Sue: "I listened to the smart people I had on staff, and they made recommendations, and if they made sense for the business then I followed the recommendations."
